La Casa Norte, Chicago
Our interest in Mexico and Latino culture connected us with , a nonprofit organization in Humboldt Park.
This young but dynamic agency provides free, bilingual case management, housing advocacy and employment services to homeless families and individuals. Its innovative Solid Ground program offers a safe home and caring environment for homeless young men, ages 16-21, one of the most underserved groups in the city. Sixteen residents reside there, receiving counseling, career guidance and other assistance toward a healthy, fulfilling life.
